5stream and Tobin Brothers began their partnership in 2015.  A decade later, a lot has changed in the quantity of streams, quality of cameras, expectations of the end consumer and the overall experience delivered.

In 2015, streaming of funerals was quite a novel concept and there was approximately 1 funeral streamed per month.  Where necessity is often seen as the mother of invention, the unfortunate events surrounding COVID-19 accelerated the requirements for funerals to be streamed.  Both geographical and physical constraints were placed on communities, allowing family, friends and relatives little option but to collectively celebrate and commemorate the life of a loved one online.

  • From 1 stream per month in 2015, 2024 saw up to 15 funerals per day.
